Hamilton Schools, School by School
Every public and Catholic school’s 2025–26 EQAO results across the city, with the board and Ontario figures to compare
149 schools,
one set of results
Across the City of Hamilton, including Ancaster, Dundas, Stoney Creek, Flamborough and Glanbrook, 149 public and Catholic schools have EQAO results: 80 elementary and 13 high schools in the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, and 49 elementary and 7 high schools in the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board. Below are every school’s 2025–26 results, straight from EQAO.
Board-wide, the public board was below the Ontario average on every measure in 2025–26. The Catholic board was above Ontario in Grade 3, close to it in Grade 6, level on the literacy test and below in Grade 9 math. Results vary widely from school to school within both boards.

What EQAO
can and can’t tell you
EQAO tests every Ontario student in Grades 3 and 6 in reading, writing and math, in Grade 9 in math, and in Grade 10 on the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test. Each figure below is the share of students who met or exceeded the provincial standard.
Small schools swing. When only 20 or 30 students write, a few students move the result a lot. Each figure shows last year’s result (“was”) and the number of students alongside it.
It measures one day’s tests. It says nothing about arts, sports, special education support, French Immersion or how a school feels. Visit, and talk to parents in the neighbourhood.
The school isn’t the address. A school near a house may not be the school that serves it. Check the catchment before you buy (see below).

Grades 3 and 6
Filter by board or community, and tap a column heading to sort. Schools are listed A to Z to start. Each cell shows 2025–26, with the 2024–25 result underneath (“was”). Some schools teach only junior or only senior grades, so they appear in one table.

Check the school
for the exact address
Each board has its own address search. The public board’s School Locator identifies the school a child attends, and the Catholic board’s School Locator shows the elementary and secondary schools for an address. Both boards offer French Immersion at designated schools, with their own boundaries, so check that separately if it matters to you.
Both boards say attendance boundaries can change. If a particular school matters to you, check before you firm up an offer, and don’t rely on the listing description.

Hamilton schools FAQ
What does an EQAO result mean?
For Grades 3 and 6 it is the percentage of students who met or exceeded the provincial standard in reading, writing and math. For Grade 9 it is the same for math. For the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test it is the percentage of first-time eligible students who were successful.
Which Hamilton high schools offer the IB programme?
For 2026–27 the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Ancaster High School and Westdale Secondary School. Students start Grade 11 at the IB school for their catchment.
How do I find out which school serves a house in Hamilton?
Enter the address in the board’s own tool: the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board’s School Locator, or the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board’s School Locator, which shows the elementary and secondary schools for an address. Both boards say boundaries can change, so check before you firm up an offer.
How do Hamilton’s boards compare with the Ontario average?
In 2025–26 the public board was below the Ontario average on every EQAO measure; Grade 6 math was 38% against 52% provincially. The Catholic board was above Ontario in Grade 3, close to it in Grade 6, level on the literacy test and below in Grade 9 math. Individual schools vary widely in both boards.
Do these results cover Ancaster, Dundas, Stoney Creek and Waterdown?
Yes. They are all part of the City of Hamilton and served by the same two boards. Use the community filter above the tables to see one area at a time.
Results from EQAO’s 2025–26 school results for English-language public and Catholic schools in the City of Hamilton, retrieved October 15, 2026. Not included: the public board’s Remote Day School, two alternative-education sites, and Charlton Hall, which has no reported results. School addresses and communities are from EQAO’s school records. We update this page when EQAO releases new results.
