Crown Point
Crown Point is a residential neighbourhood in Hamilton’s east end. The City’s neighbourhood plans divide it into Crown Point West and Crown Point East, and Ottawa Street North, its main shopping street, runs between them.
The Ottawa Street business area runs from Barton Street to Main Street and has more than 100 businesses. It’s long been known for fabric and home-decor shops, with antique stores and eateries added in recent years.

Crown Point
Ottawa Street
More than 100 businesses between Barton and Main, from fabric and decor shops to antiques, cafés and pubs. The business association has run the strip since 1985.
West and East
The City’s neighbourhood plans split Crown Point into Crown Point West and Crown Point East, with Ottawa Street running between them.
LRT on the Way
Metrolinx’s Hamilton LRT, now in early works, plans a stop at Ottawa Street on its line between McMaster University and Eastgate Square.
Older Homes
If you’re looking at an older home, ask about the wiring, plumbing and water service pipe. The City of Hamilton says about 20,000 Hamilton homes built before 1955 may have a lead water service pipe, and offers a free inspection and a replacement loan. Its Protective Plumbing Program offers a grant toward a backwater valve.
